Alexander Lamont - Challenges faced by luxury design manufacturers

Alexander Lamont is the creative director of the eponymous Bangkok based company. Growing up in a truly international context, between the United Kingdom, Africa, and later Asia, he cultivated his creative point of view through being involved in the family business, where his father was a collector and dealer of folk art and antiques.

This cultural heritage is truly expressed through the peculiar creations coming to life from Alexander's expertise and imaginations and this team of skillful artisans.

In the context of the pandemic and lockdown, we asked Mr. Alexander Lamont to share with us his experience, business views, and potential challenges to be faced and overcome in the industry he activates - luxury furniture design and manufacture.

For a complete insight, please watch the full interview above or listen to it as a podcast.

Another area that I think is going to be a future focus is our homes. Once you get locked up inside your little box, you look around and you think “I should spend more time making this place personal.”
It’s a physical space that expresses the individual more than any other space, these personal intimate spaces. What have we got in there? What sort of stuff are we living with?
